Wanjiku "Wawa" Gatheru

About Wawa: Wawa is a NYC-based creator with content focused on climate justice and youth engagement. For her work in environmental scholarship, Wawa became a Rhodes Scholar and is the only Black person in history to have received the Rhodes, Truman, and Udall Scholarships. She is also is the founder and CEO of Black Girl Environmentalist, a nonprofit devoted to empowering Black girls, women, and nonbinary people in the climate space.
